Greetings, Northmoor & More Neighbors!
Tonight at City Hall at 6:30 the Plan Commission is holding a Public Hearing and Action: Request for tentative approval of a subdivision plat and Special Use Permit to allow the re-development and adaptive reuse of Barat Campus.
This issue is still not concluded. Remember, the "Woods" which we all treasure have already been diminished in plan. The southern most portion of the "Woods" was sold to the developer by DePaul, and buildings will be constructed where he removes those trees.
City Staff is presenting a proposal to the Plan Commission to tentatively approve a plan which includes a new path from the development (Barat Woods) through the South Park Woods.
The proposed pedestrian path is not necessary. It would bisect one of the few
remaining woods in this area of the City, make a small Woods into two separate smaller pieces, further destroy the endandgered plant material and trees, diminish the character of our Woods, already made smaller by the development activities at Barat.
Wednesday, Dec. 19 Lake County Circuit Court Case #O7MR893,
Landmarks Illinois and the National Trust for Historic Preservation vs. City of Lake Forest, et al ,
is ongoing. The next Disposition Hearing, continued from November 20, 2007, before Lake County Circuit Court Judge David Hall, will be on Dec. 19, 2007 at 9:15 A.M. in Room C303. This will be an open hearing.
Please, attend tonight! Let your voices be heard!
